What is the format?
There are 24 qualifying events throughout the country, held at the most professional and popular fisheries. The winner of each 120 peg qualifying event will progress through to the Grand Final. The Grand Final event will take place on Saturday 31st August 2019 at Maver Hayfield Lakes.
The 2019 Mega Match This event brings with it some exciting new changes to the competition format that increases your chances of qualifying for a Mega Match This final! In addition to the regular twenty four (24) qualifier events taking place from 31st March – 14th August, for the first time ever, Maver (UK) will be hosting an additional event on the day of the 2019 Mega Match This Grand Final itself.
This brand new addition to the 2019 event will be made up of twenty four (24) anglers who have recorded the largest cumulative weight from any five (5) qualifier events during the 2019 campaign. Anglers can opt to fish as many qualifier events as they like with those fortunate enough to qualify for this additional event taking place at Maver Hayfield Lakes on Saturday 31st August 2019 competing for an automatic final qualification place in the 2020 Maver Mega Match This Grand Final!
- Each angler can enter as many times as he or she likes
- If not already through to the final, their top 5 weights will be added together
- The top 24 highest weights go through to a an additional event held on Match This Final day
- It is possible an angler who has only fished one eliminator can make it through to the event, but the more qualifiers fished, the better your chances. Maximum of 5 weights used to calculate cumulative total
What if the qualifiers don’t sell out?
If the qualifiers don’t sell out, then Maver (UK) still guarantee a sum of £50,000 for the winner.

The Grand Final will be held at Maver Hayfield Lakes on Saturday 31st August, 2019.
It’s all about drawing an end peg in the final?

Bought a ticket but can no longer fish or have previously qualified?
All tickets are fully transferable. You are free to sell on tickets to friends who wish to take part in the event. Note, you cannot transfer tickets to another venue.
Will the final be televised?
The 2019 Match This Grand Final will be shown on BT Sport approximately two weeks after the Grand Final has taken place.
How much do Maver make from this?
The very simple answer is absolutely nothing. 100% pools entry will be paid out in the way of prizes on the day of the grand final. Maver are proud to be organising an event such as this. It is vital that we take our sport to the next level, where it deserves to be. Obviously organising an event such as this incurs many costs, with pegs fees alone amounting to a massive amount of money. But rest assured, if all 24 qualifiers sell out, then the winner WILL walk away with a life changing sum of money.
You’ve got to be in it to win it.
There is nothing else to say other than THE VERY BEST OF LUCK.
