Andy Kinder has booked his place in the Hayfield Lakes Winter Carpa League final after topping the very first round!
Conditions on the day were extremely difficult following a hard frost the night before. Andy fished the method feeder with mini boilie on the hook to take nine (9) carp up to nearly 20lbs to weigh in a match-winning 75lb 6oz and book his place in the £1,000+ final next year.
After the match, Andy commented: “It was a really tough day following the frost, but I knew that if I was patient and sat it out and waited for big fish, I’d be in with a chance. I’m really looking forward to fishing the final. It’s a great event that’s well organised and fished by some top anglers that know the venue well, so to get into the final at the first available opportunity is great“!
The event is a twenty (20) match series from which anglers take their best fifteen (15) results, dropping five (5). Anglers are pegged over sections of five (5) with points being awarded depending on where in the section they finish. As the event progresses, overall match winners, or the highest positioned unqualified angler, goes through to the Grand Final, which is being held this year on Sunday 29th April on Dannie’s Island Lake.
