With the government changes to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) rules that now allows Match fishing to take place, MAVER UK have decided to reinstate the “Match This” competition however, due to the lack of sufficient free dates for the entire series of matches to be held in 2020, only seven (7) qualifiers will be held this year with the balance and Final being held in 2021.
As Covid-19 is still around and there are National regulations still in place to protect against the spread of the disease, Maver will be implementing the following rules, (these are MANDATORY), to provide maximum safety and protection for match organisers, fishery staff and competitors alike at ALL qualifying events.
All events will operate a ROLLING DRAW, Etc. and anglers are requested NOT to arrive before 08-00

ANY ANGLER FAILING TO ABIDE BY THESE RULES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED AND INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE THE FISHERY.
- Anglers must remain 2 metres apart at all times – NO EXCEPTIONS
- No sharing of equipment
- No congregating at any time including the start and end of the match
- If you have any of the symptoms of Covid–19 do not attend matches under any circumstances
ROLLING REGISTRATION, POOLS PAYMENT AND DRAW
An OPTIONAL £20 Pools will be operated at all qualifying events.
Only PLASTIC £5, £10, and £20 notes will be accepted as payment. COINS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED nor will OLD Paper type notes.
All qualifying matches will operate a ROLLING registration, pools payment and Draw as follows:-
- Immediately upon arrival, anglers are to proceed to the Registration and Pools payment facility to register their arrival and pay pools. (If they are not entering the pools, they must still register their attendance).
- After registration and pools payment anglers will proceed to the draw facility where a member of the organising team will draw their peg number and record his/her name against the peg drawn on the appropriate document. (Anglers will not be allowed to draw their own peg).
- After being notified of his/her peg number the angler must proceed to his/her peg. They must not wait at the draw to see who has drawn where or wait for a fellow competitor.
IT IS INEVITABLE THAT A QUEUE WILL FORM FOR THE ABOVE. PLEASE MAINTAIN A 2 METRE DISTANCE BETWEEN ANGLERS AND OFFICIALS DURING THE ABOVE PROCESS.
WEIGHING IN
All fisheries used during these qualifiers will be utilising a socially distanced and Covid-19 safe weighing system.
- Anglers are required to remain at their pegs at the end of the match and to wait for the weighing team to arrive.
- Anglers are to take instructions from the weighing team on placing of their fish into the weigh nets and to then retreat 2 metres from the weigh team.
- The weigh team will weigh the fish, declare the weight which will be recorded by the second weighing official.
- The weigh official will then return the fish to the lake where it is practical at least 2 metres away from the angler’s peg.
- This process is then repeated until all the competitor’s fish have been weighed and the weights recorded.
- After the weigh in, the angler must return to his vehicle.
ANGLERS MUST NOT FOLLOW THE SCALES ROUND THE LAKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.
ANGLERS MUST NOT CONCREGATE AT ANY POINT.
PHOTOGRAPHS OF AN ANGLERS CATCH ARE NOT PERMITTED UNLES SOCIAL DISTANCING AND COVID-19 RULES ARE ADHERED TO.
RESULTS
Results and pay-out will be made at the end of the match when social distancing rules will still be in place.
All monies that are paid out will have been SANITISED prior to pay-out to minimise any risk of the virus being transmitted.
